Growing Concern of E-cigarette Popularity Among Young People in Finland

E-cigarette use among young people in Finland is concerning, as it may cause serious harm to their nervous system, according to police.

According to the latest reports from Finland, the increasing popularity of e-cigarettes among young people has become a concerning trend.

According to Tiina Kuosa, a senior police officer in eastern Finland, e-cigarettes containing heavy metals such as lead and copper can pose a serious threat to the neurological system of young people and children, regardless of whether they contain nicotine or not.

According to a report, tobacco regulations in Finland stipulate that only individuals over the age of 18 can purchase and possess e-cigarettes. However, there are still young people who manage to raise funds by selling single e-cigarettes to their peers. Surprisingly, some parents are not vigilant about this phenomenon and may even mistake e-cigarettes as colorful markers.

A report released by the Helsinki Metropolitan Area Welfare and Health Services (Keusote) reveals that while the usage of traditional tobacco is steadily declining, there has been an exponential growth in the use of e-cigarettes. According to a welfare survey conducted by Keusote, 94% of the 660 teenagers in the region who use nicotine products have either tried or used e-cigarettes.
