Police in Alanya District, Antalya Province, Turkey Seize Illegal E-cigarettes and Smuggled Cigarettes; Judicial Investigation Launched
The Anti-Smuggling Department of the Antalya Provincial Gendarmerie Command, together with the Alanya District Gendarmerie Command, carried out a joint operation under the instruction of the Alanya Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office. During a raid at a market in the Alanya district, authorities seized 18 e-cigarettes, 250 packs of smuggled cigarettes, and 40 e-cigarette heaters. All confiscated items have been seized, and the case has now entered the judicial investigation stage.

According to haberler on August 18, during an operation in the Alanya district of Antalya Province, Turkey, police seized 18 e-cigarettes, 250 packs of smuggled cigarettes, and 40 e-cigarette heaters.

 

The Antalya Provincial Gendarmerie Command, acting on the instructions of the Alanya Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office, carried out the raid at a market. The operation was jointly conducted by the Provincial Anti-Smuggling Department (KOM) and the Alanya District Gendarmerie Command.

 

All confiscated products have been seized, and a judicial investigation has been initiated.

FDA’s proposed rule requiring foreign tobacco manufacturers to register establishments and list products is more than routine paperwork, Keller and Heckman LLP partner Azim Chowdhury told 2Firsts. He said it could strengthen FDA’s import enforcement, inspections and market surveillance. Chinese e-cigarette OEM/ODM manufacturers, specification developers, brand owners and component suppliers may need to review their roles, product data and U.S. market authorization status.

His appearance comes months after the FDA moved to accelerate PMTA reviews and introduced a more differentiated enforcement policy for certain unauthorized ENDS and oral nicotine pouch products. The agency also plans a public list identifying manufacturers and products it does not currently intend to prioritize for enforcement under the May guidance. NATO says its membership includes more than 66,000 retail stores, making product-status transparency and enforcement boundaries directly relevant to the retail sector.

China-based Hunan China Tobacco Industry Co., Ltd. and Shenzhen Baisha Technology Co., Ltd. have filed a patent application covering an adult-user identification mechanism for heated tobacco devices. The patent proposes using flexible pressure sensors installed in the device grip area to collect pressure distribution patterns generated when users hold the device. The system evaluates factors including effective contact area, grip shape and contact duration, and combines roller movement detection to determine whether unlocking conditions are met.
