This operation is one of a series of crackdowns on organized crime in the Huddersfield area, aimed at cutting off its sources of income and prosecuting individuals involved in activities such as drug trafficking. According to statistics, from September 2024 to July 2025, the Huddersfield police have arrested 85 people, executed 15 search warrants, and seized approximately £230,000 (around $300,000) worth of drugs.

Sheriff Rebecca Calpin stated that in 2025, a significant amount of work is being done in the Kirklys area to combat organized crime, with recent search warrants being just a part of these efforts. Testing has found that these e-cigarettes have higher nicotine levels, are unregulated and untested, and may be particularly harmful to young people.
