Vapexpo Spain 2023: Insights on Emerging Market and Tobacco Tax
Vapexpo Spain, the largest vape exhibition in Spain, attracts over 10,000 industry professionals from around the world.

At 10:00 on June 3rd, according to Madrid time, the VAPEXPO SPAIN electronic cigarette exhibition officially opened at the Pabellón de Cristal exhibition center in Madrid, Spain.

During the exhibition, 2FIRSTS interviewed the head of Flavourfactory, an e-cigarette and e-liquid company from the UK, who stated that this was their second time participating in the exhibition. Compared to last year, he could visibly feel an increase in the number of exhibitors and visitors. 2FIRSTS also interviewed the organizer of the event, who stated that the number of attendees had surpassed the previous year's scale and was expected to exceed 3,000 on-site.

The head of Flavour Factory believes that there is still room for development in Spain's electronic cigarette market. Currently, the market's acceptance of electronic cigarettes is not as high as other areas in Europe, making it an emerging market.

He also shared his thoughts on the electronic cigarette category, stating that disposable products are a common phase in every electronic cigarette market, but the controversy caused by disposable products could lead to larger vapor and refillable options becoming the future trend.

Another exhibitor, Lavaportienda, who mainly produces large vaporizer products, expressed their opinion on the Spanish tobacco tax. They believe that the existing regulatory system in the country is sufficient to support the market, but high tobacco taxes in the future could hinder the development of the electronic cigarette market.

The official stated that according to information he had received, the Spanish government is considering increasing taxation, with "future taxes being eight times the current amount.

He gave an example that currently their 10 milliliter nicotine product sells for 1 euro, but in three years it may have to sell for 8 euros.

He stated that this would "kill" the entire e-cigarette industry.

2FIRSTS interviewed other e-cigarette companies regarding the issue of tobacco taxes, and they expressed similar viewpoints.

According to onsite reports from 2FIRSTS, there were over 130 exhibitors and almost 10,000 professional attendees at the exhibition. On May 15th, 2FIRSTS announced a media partnership with VAPEXPO SPAIN to promote the global development and exchange of the e-cigarette industry.

Vapexpo Spain, the largest and most important vaporization industry exhibition in Spain, brought together vape manufacturers, suppliers, retailers, and industry experts from around the world. Meanwhile, 2FIRSTS, a global vaporization technology media and think tank, focused on market and development hot topics in the global vaporization field, committed to promoting the exchange of information in the global e-cigarette industry and using its media influence to support the development of the global vaporization industry.

2FIRSTS will continue to report on further developments from Vapexpo Spain. Stay tuned for more updates.
