Argentinian Massive Protest against Government Crackdown on Cannabis Registration Organization
Argentina to hold massive cannabis march on May 4 in response to government crackdown on cannabis registration organization.

According to Argentine media outlet 0223, on April 28th, as the debate surrounding marijuana use becomes a nationwide focal point, Argentina will hold a large-scale marijuana march.

This protest was aimed at the Argentinian government's early review of the marijuana program registration organization (Reprocann). To this end, marijuana protests will be held nationwide on May 4, with La Plata as the central location.

The parade organizing committee stated that:

The recent statement from Presidential Spokesperson Manuel Adorni confirms long-standing concerns that the new government measures will deprive individuals who use marijuana for medical treatment of their health rights. The government's position is aimed at attacking the Reprocann registry, which is responsible for controlling the production of medical marijuana in our country.

Despite the passing of the Medical Cannabis Act seven years ago and the Industrial Cannabis Act two years ago, the cannabis community continues to grow and expand. From scientific research on the use and properties of cannabis, to supplying the medical system and industrial production, to the treatment of various illnesses, the entire cannabis industry is increasingly becoming a pillar of progress.

Javier Milei's government-led policies threaten the basic right to health of the public and regress to the failed "war on drugs" model. This approach will only harm the most vulnerable populations, strengthening drug traffickers and criminal networks. Therefore, marijuana advocates are calling on the public to maintain the current regulatory framework for marijuana laws.
