Azerbaijan Considers Nationwide Ban on E-cigarettes for Youth Health
Azerbaijan considers nationwide ban on e-cigarettes to protect youth health, says chairman of economic committee Tahir Mirkishili.

According to a report by Russia's First News Media on April 24th, Tahir Mirkishili, Chairman of Azerbaijan's Economic Policy, Industry and Entrepreneurship Committee, proposed a significant measure during a recent parliamentary meeting. He suggested banning e-cigarettes nationwide in order to address the potential health risks they pose to young people.

Milikheli stated that the e-cigarettes popular among young people will have a negative impact on their health in the future. "Azerbaijan imports approximately 3 million disposable e-cigarettes every year. If this does not result in economic losses, we can proactively ban their use in the country.

According to Millcreek, e-cigarettes have been banned in multiple countries worldwide due to their long-term negative impact on the health of young people. He pointed out that, despite their popularity among youth, it is important to acknowledge the health risks associated with e-cigarettes.

The proposal for this policy is based on the consideration of protecting citizens, especially the younger generation, and will be further discussed in the upcoming parliamentary sessions. If the proposal is passed by the parliament, Azerbaijan will join the ranks of countries globally banning e-cigarettes.
