2first, on September 5, 2025, according to Parana Centro, the issue of e-cigarette use will be a focal point of discussion in the agenda of the Legislative Assembly of Parana, Brazil next week. The popularity of e-cigarettes has raised concerns not only among public safety officials but also among healthcare and education professionals. In response to this issue, a public hearing will be held by the parliament next Wednesday at 2 pm to specifically address the risks of e-cigarette use, particularly the potential harm to children and adolescents. Proposed by the Chair of the Committee for the Rights of Children, Adolescents, the Elderly, and Persons with Disabilities and State Assemblyman, Evandro Araújo, the hearing aims to raise public awareness of the dangers of e-cigarettes and promote relevant legislation and educational measures.

At the hearing, experts will discuss in detail the components of e-cigarettes, their health effects, and the prevalence of illegal transactions in the market. In recent years, the e-cigarette market has experienced rapid growth, but has also brought about numerous issues, including counterfeit products and illegal sales. These problems not only impact consumer health, but also pose a threat to public safety. Therefore, the parliament hopes to gather opinions from all sides at this hearing in order to formulate effective strategies to address these challenges.

In addition, the council will also discuss how to strengthen regulation of the e-cigarette market to ensure all products meet safety standards and crack down on illegal sales practices. This includes a ban on homemade e-cigarette liquid mixtures and harsh penalties for illicit transactions. Through these measures, the council aims to reduce the negative impact of e-cigarettes on public health, particularly in protecting adolescents.
