China Tobacco Hong Kong's Booth Back to the TFWA in Singapore With Over 30 Brands Featured
China Tobacco International (Hong Kong) Co., Ltd. has organized representatives from related industrial enterprises within China's tobacco industry to participate in the TFWA (Tax Free World Association) Asia Pacific Exhibition & Conference.

Singapore -  From May 12 to May 17, 2024, the TFWA (Tax Free World Association) Asia Pacific Exhibition & Conference is being held in Singapore as scheduled. China Tobacco International (Hong Kong) Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "China Tobacco Hong Kong") has organized representatives from related industrial enterprises within China's tobacco industry to participate in the exhibition, showcasing over 30 Chinese tobacco brands. During the event, representatives from China Tobacco Hong Kong were interviewed by 2FIRSTS.

In the interview, China Tobacco Hong Kong noted that this year's TFWA Asia Pacific Exhibition & Conference in Singapore is richer in content and larger in scale compared to previous years, with an expanded presence of Chinese domestic cigars for the first time. When asked about the global tobacco market's development trends, China Tobacco Hong Kong expressed optimism, noting that traffic in certain duty-free markets has surpassed pre-pandemic levels, indicating a positive outlook for the future recovery and growth of the duty-free market.

2FIRSTS: What are the new highlights of China Tobacco Hong Kong's participation in this year's TFWA Asia Pacific Exhibition & Conference in Singapore compared to previous years?

China Tobacco Hong Kong:

From May 12 to 17, 2024, China Tobacco Hong Kong has organized representatives from related industrial enterprises within China's tobacco industry to participate in the TFWA Asia Pacific Exhibition & Conference in Singapore. We have made comprehensive efforts from various aspects to showcase more Chinese cigarette and cigar brands, aiming for new breakthroughs in exhibition promotion and negotiations.

Firstly, the exhibition content is more diverse. This year, we have coordinated 15 industrial enterprises within the industry to participate in the TFWA Asia Pacific Exhibition & Conference, showcasing over 30 domestic cigarette brands on-site, with representatives from 10 industrial enterprises directly promoting their brands at the exhibition.

Secondly, the scale of participation has expanded. The area of China Tobacco Hong Kong's booth this year has doubled from last year, reaching 120 square meters. Both the display area and the number of exhibits have increased. Additionally, we have set up individual display areas for each industrial enterprise to better showcase and promote Chinese cigarettes and cigars.

Thirdly, the cigar exhibition is more significant. This year, we have coordinated the participation of four cigar industrial enterprises, attracting widespread attention from cigar merchants. Visiting customers have shown a strong interest in domestic cigar brands.

2FIRSTS: What are the new highlights of China Tobacco Hong Kong's business operations?

China Tobacco Hong Kong:

Taking the development of China Tobacco Hong Kong's cigarette business in 2023 as an example, we can briefly discuss the new highlights of our company's development:

Firstly, the duty-free market is recovering quickly with a positive development trend. Traffic in certain duty-free markets has already surpassed pre-Covid levels. China Tobacco Hong Kong will continue to deepen its efforts in the duty-free market, focus on brand development, actively introduce new cigarette products, enrich the product portfolio, and improve the company's gross profit level.

Secondly, China Tobacco Hong Kong will explore new opportunities in the taxed market and expanding business areas. In 2023, China Tobacco Hong Kong, in cooperation with Sichuan Tobacco, successfully introduced a cigars brand named "Great Wall (长城)" into Hong Kong's taxed market. We will continue to explore the potential of the taxed market and carry out related business activities.

About TFWA

The TFWA Asia Pacific Exhibition & Conference in Singapore is a premier event regarding the global duty-free and travel retail industry. Each year, global duty-free brands and travel retailers gather in Singapore to participate in this annual global duty-free event. The event offers ideal industry exchange opportunities in the Asia Pacific region, bringing together sectors such as tobacco, alcohol, cosmetics, and more. It provides seminars, exhibitions, and industry networking activities for the duty-free and travel retail market in the Asia Pacific and globally.

After going public on the Hong Kong Exchange in 2019, China Tobacco Hong Kong for the first time organized the participation of 11 industrial enterprises under China Tobacco, bringing 16 brands and over 100 types of heat-not-burn new tobacco products to the InterTabac international tobacco exhibition in Dortmund in September 2023. By representing related industrial enterprises within China's tobacco industry at this event, China Tobacco Hong Kong aims to further enhance the international recognition of Chinese cigarette brands, increase their consumer reach, and adapt more quickly to the new trade environment post-pandemic.

2FIRSTS will continue to monitor China Tobacco Hong Kong's strategic layout and development trends in both the international taxed and duty-free markets.
