Philippine Authorities Seize 26,000 "Eutral" Vapes
The Philippine CIDG raided a site in Marilao City, seizing 26,000 unregistered “Eutral” vape products worth PHP 9.1 million (about $157,000). A Chinese national was arrested at the scene.

On May 22, the Philippine Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) announced that in an operation two days prior in Marilao City, Bulacan Province, a total of 26,000 unregistered e-cigarette products with a total value of 9.1 million pesos (approximately $157,000) were seized.

According to a statement released by the CIDG, a suspect identified as "Chinese national 'Ping'" was arrested on the spot. The suspect is allegedly involved in the illegal sale of e-cigarette products called "Eutral" and did not obtain the necessary permits from the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) in the Philippines.

The CIDG stated that the suspect is currently being referred to the National Prosecution Service for filing of charges for violation of the Nicotine and Non-Nicotine Vapor Products Regulation Act.

Director General Nicolas Torres III of CIDG stated that the government is regulating e-cigarette products in order to safeguard and promote the public's health rights.

He pointed out: "This large-scale seizure effectively prevented the potential harm that these unregistered e-cigarette products may have posed to public health, and we have successfully arrested individuals suspected of selling these illegal products.
