Colombian Congress approves bill to impose 30% tax on e-cigarettes and vaping products to reduce consumption and support government.

According to Caracol's report on February 20, the Colombian House of Representatives recently approved a bill in its second reading that imposes a 30% tax on the consumption of e-cigarettes and vaporized products. The aim is to reduce the consumption of e-cigarettes in the country and provide financial support for the government.

Carolina Giraldo, a member of the Green Alliance party, stated that the tobacco and e-cigarette industry should not influence decisions that are beneficial to all of the Colombian public.

Currently, the bill has been submitted to the Senate of the Republic of Colombia for a third review.
