Customs officials have arrested and detained a 59-year-old individual in Cyprus for charges of illegally possessing and carrying duty-free goods.
According to Michalis Nikolaou, spokesperson for Pafos ADE News and head of Pafos TAE, yesterday morning a 59-year-old man travelled to London from Pafos Airport.
After searching his luggage, authorities discovered a total weight of 8,850 grams of tobacco and 98 packs of untaxed cigarettes.
The man was arrested and detained.
The Paphos Customs Authority is currently investigating this case.
