E-cigarette stocks surge in early trading on September 3rd, with Jinlong Machinery and Electrics leading the way.

In the morning trading on September 3, stocks related to the e-cigarette concept strengthened. As of the time of writing, Jinlong Machinery and Electronics surged by over 19.8%, Dongfeng Group, Kennede Electronics Mfg Co.,Ltd., and others rose by over 10%, and Jiyi Shares, Kersen Technology, Shunho Shares, and others followed suit.

Lawmakers from Morena insist the legislation must avoid loopholes and resist pressure from the tobacco industry.

Russia’s Vape Market Squeezed by Excise Hikes and Criminal Marking Rules

According to Business FM, Russia’s vape and e-liquid supply has tightened since mid-Aug; by early Oct top liquids had largely disappeared and prices rose ~50% vs early summer. Shops cite a two-year excise hike to RUB 44/mL and, from Aug, criminal liability for unmarked goods (large-scale from RUB 100k), prompting withdrawals. Some chains report compliant substitutes. Australia NSW Police Crack Down on Illicit Tobacco Syndicate Under Strike Force Franklin

NSW Police, together with NSW Health and the Australian Border Force, seized more than 18,000 vapes, 1.9 million cigarettes, 74kg of loose-leaf tobacco and five unregistered firearms during a week of action under Strike Force Franklin. Four people were charged following coordinated raids on the Far North Coast. Police said the operation targeted organised crime networks profiting from illicit tobacco sales, with an estimated street value exceeding $2.35 million(1.54 million US dollars)..

Taoiseach Micheál Martin said Ireland should work toward eliminating the use of vapes over time, as the Cabinet meets to consider the Public Health (Single-Use Vapes) Bill 2025, proposed by Health Minister Jennifer Carroll MacNeill. The bill would ban the retail sale of single-use vapes six months after it becomes law.
