According to a report on October 4 by The Star Malaysia, the Kota Kinabalu police in Penampang and Putatan suburbs have arrested four men suspected of selling e-cigarette liquid adulterated with marijuana. These individuals, aged between 22 and 31, were apprehended by local authorities during three raids conducted on the 3rd and 4th of the current month.
Sammy Newton, the local police chief of Pengara, stated in an interview that the anti-drug force seized 31 bottles of e-cigarette liquid containing marijuana worth about 5,600 Malaysian Ringgits (approximately 8,700 yuan) during the operation. He elaborated by explaining that the police first raided a residence in Bundusan, Pengara, at around 10 pm and arrested the first suspect. The 22-year-old suspect was found to be carrying a bottle of e-cigarette liquid mixed with marijuana, according to the investigation.
Newton stated that, following the interrogation of this man, they were able to track down two other men, aged 29 and 31, at another residence in the same neighborhood. The police found four boxes containing bottles of e-cigarette liquid infused with marijuana in their possession.
Newton stated that the fourth suspect was arrested at 12:05 am the following day. The police seized five boxes of the same type of e-cigarette liquid from this suspect and discovered a large box containing 21 bottles of e-cigarette liquid at their residence in Putadin.
According to the police, the urine tests of all four suspects showed positive for marijuana. One of the suspects was found to have a history of six drug-related criminal charges. The case is currently under further investigation.
