【By 2Firsts】Since 2025, the disposable e-cigarette market has shown new development trends. According to 2Firsts observations, the competition in puff counts for disposable e-cigarettes seems to have entered a relatively stagnant stage, with more and more brands no longer focusing solely on puff counts as their competitive edge, but instead shifting their focus on innovation towards product flavors, designs, and user experiences. However, some brands continue to focus on the competition in puff counts, as 2Firsts has noted that the American market recently introduced two new disposable e-cigarettes claiming to offer puffs of up to 100,000 and 60,000 respectively.

Over 2,000 Puffs Per Milliliter and Large 1500mAh Battery Capacity

According to information from the e-cigarette distributor website KangerWholesaleUSA, the Horizon Tech 100K disposable e-cigarette has officially launched on the platform, with a claimed puff count of up to 100,000 puffs. In addition, the disposable water pipe-style e-cigarette Olit Hookalit Pro 60K has also launched on the e-cigarette distributor website vapesourcing, with a claimed puff count of up to 60,000 puffs.

2Firsts has compiled and organized the parameter information for the Horizon Tech 100K and Olit Hookalit Pro 60K, as shown in the specific chart below.

China Tobacco Hubei explores staged nicotine pouch delivery, using dynamic membranes to slow early release and gradient particles to sustain later delivery
China Tobacco Hubei Industrial Co., Ltd. disclosed several oral nicotine-related patent applications in August 2026, including two that approach staged nicotine release from different directions. One uses a high-viscosity membrane that forms inside the pouch after contact with saliva to slow rapid early release, while the other uses gradient particles with a faster-disintegrating outer layer and a slower core to create a fast-to-sustained release profile. Together, the filings explore how nicotine pouches could balance initial delivery with release later in use.

South Korea's liquid-vape market is showing changes across raw-material imports, product types and sales channels after synthetic nicotine came under the Tobacco Business Act on April 24. Customs data show nicotine-analogue imports totaled 12,126 kilograms from April through August, while synthetic-nicotine imports over the same five months totaled 231,663 kilograms, just 39.3% of the amount imported in March alone. Physical liquid-vape stores tracked in Seoul and Gyeonggi Province fell 9.9%, unmanned outlets edged higher and online sales listings increased from 27,774 to 42,437. JAMA Study: U.S. Vape Directories Fail to Sustainably Curb Unlisted Sales as Product Shifts May Redistribute Brand Share 2Firsts Recommended
A study by CDC Foundation researchers found no sustained decline in e-cigarette sales across Alabama, Oklahoma and Louisiana, the first three U.S. states to implement e-cigarette directory laws. Louisiana initially saw a significant sales decline, followed by a rebound and a persistent reduction in product availability. Sales also shifted from nontobacco-flavored disposables toward prefilled cartridges, with Vuse Alto driving much of the increase in menthol cartridges. By April 2025, unlisted products still accounted for more than half of e-cigarette nicotine sales in all three states.

As Regulators Focus on Nicotine Pouch Child Safety, Safeguard Pursues an External Packaging Route
As regulators pay closer attention to child safety in nicotine pouches, manufacturers face a practical challenge: how to strengthen child-resistant packaging without unnecessarily reworking products, production lines and regulatory submissions already in place. In a written interview with 2Firsts, Chemular detailed Safeguard’s external packaging approach, its customer-specific testing requirements and possible PMTA pathways. The model remains early-stage, but it offers a new way to think about an increasingly important regulatory and manufacturing issue.
