In August this year, the vape brand iJoy launched the iJoy Bar SD40000 in markets including the U.S., claiming the product features AI voice control. To gain deeper insights into its market performance and user feedback, 2Firsts collected and organized consumer reviews from major distributor websites since the product's launch. The goal is to analyze the user acceptance of such products and the challenges they face. (Read more: "Product Launch | iJoy Unveils 40,000-Puff Disposable with AI Voice Control in US")

On websites of vape retailers in the United States such as vapesourcing, bellavapor, morevaping, and blackoutvapors, consumers have mixed reviews of the iJoy Bar SD40000. On one hand, some users have given positive feedback on its flavor, lighting effects, and battery life. On the other hand, there are also users who have pointed out some issues with the product.
AI Control Feels "Futuristic," but Sometimes "Malfunctions"
On the product review pages of distributor websites, some consumers stated, "This last forever, and the AI voice control is super futuristic!"

Additionally, two consumers mentioned, "The voice AI is stupid" and "The voice control is also OK as it malfunctions from time to time but it works."

Inaccurate E-Liquid Content Display
On the product review page on the dealer's website, two consumers noted that the e-liquid content of the product was not accurately displayed. One consumer stated: "Would give this vape a 5/5 stars if it weren't for the fact the everytime l have bought this vape, it gets to 0% liquid but it's not actually at 0%. its more like 30%-50% which is so annoying that it lies to you about the percentage."

"Like the cotton candy flavor a lot. just be warned that this is one of those vapes that might say you have 0% juice left but it's just being stupid. As there's clearly more than 0%. l've been hitting it for the past 2 weeks with it saying 0% and it's still not even close to tasting like 0%."

Approximately 95% Achievement Rate of Puff Count
An article on the blackoutvapors website regarding a test of the iJoy Bar SD40000's puff count states that in practical use, using short puffs of 2-3 seconds in Drive mode can achieve 37,000 to 39,000 puffs, while long puffs of 4-6 seconds decreases the count to 30,000 to 32,000 puffs.

Furthermore, factors such as the duration of puffs, e-cigarette mode, frequency of use, ambient temperature, and charging habits are key factors that affect the number of puffs taken with the iJoy Bar SD40000. Utilizing the Drive mode, taking shorter puffs, avoiding consecutive puffs, adjusting airflow, and properly charging can result in a higher number of puffs taken.

In fact, as early as 2018, iJoy launched a MOD-type e-cigarette with voice control functionality - the IJOY Avenger 270, which claims its "biggest achievement is the voice control system, allowing users to adjust the device through voice recognition mechanism".
According to Tianyancha, iJoy applied for a patent for a "voice-controlled e-cigarette" in 2018, which includes a voice input module, control module, driver module, voltage reduction module, and atomizer. (Read more: "Innovative iJoy Uranus 25000: AI Voice-controlled Disposable E-cigarette")
