Japan Tobacco Issues Q2 Results
The report shows that in the first half of 2023, Japan Tobacco's operating revenue was 1.39 trillion yen (9.79 billion USD), a year-on-year increase of 9.9%.

On July 31, Japan Tobacco (JT) released its second quarter and first-half financial report for 2023.

 

The report shows that in the first half of 2023, Japan Tobacco's operating revenue was 1.39 trillion yen (9.79 billion USD), a year-on-year increase of 9.9%; operating profit was 413.6 billion yen (2.91 billion USD), a year-on-year increase of 8%; net profit was 287 billion yen (2.02 billion USD), a year-on-year increase of 8.7%.

 

Japan Tobacco's operating revenue for the second quarter of 2023 was 727.5 billion yen (5.15 billion USD), a year-on-year increase of 6.2%; operating profit was 207.2 billion yen (1.46 billion USD), an increase of 1.2%; net profit was 142.3 billion yen (1.00 billion USD), a year-on-year increase of 1.7%.

Japan Tobacco also raised its revenue forecast for 2023 in the report. The revenue forecast has been revised upwards from 2.629 trillion yen to 2.759 trillion yen (19.40 billion USD), and the profit forecast has been revised upwards from 440 billion yen to 457 billion yen (3.22 billion USD).
