Japan Tobacco International (JTI) Malaysia has appointed Didier Ellena as managing director, effective Jan 5. Ellena has spent more than 30 years with JTI and has held leadership roles across multiple countries and regions. According to Business Today, Japan Tobacco International (JTI) Malaysia announced the appointment of Didier Ellena as managing director, effective Jan 5, 2026.

 

The report said Ellena has more than 30 years of experience within JTI and has held management roles in markets including Hungary, the Adriatic region, Russia, France and Italy. The company said that in his new role, he will be responsible for JTI Malaysia’s overall business strategy and operations, with a focus on sustainable growth, regulatory compliance and responsible business practices.

 

Ellena succeeds Juliana Mohd Yahaya, who was appointed managing director of JTI Malaysia in October 2023. She will move on to serve as vice president of sales and marketing for JTI North Asia.
