Kazakhstan President Calls for Comprehensive Anti-Addiction Plan
Kazakhstan President Tokayev calls for comprehensive plan to combat addiction, emphasizing dangers of e-cigarettes to youth at national conference.

Recently, according to BaigeNews.kz, President of Kazakhstan Kasym-Jomart Tokayev requested the government to develop a comprehensive plan to combat addiction during a national conference in Atyrau.

He pointed out that e-cigarettes have caused serious harm to the health of young people and have affected the future of the country. He said:

A legislation currently being discussed in parliament will impose criminal liability on the import, manufacture, and sale of e-cigarettes. I believe that this step will greatly reduce the spread of this trendy addiction.

At the same time, Tokayev stated that a systematic explanation must be provided through the mass media.

As a progressive nation, we must eradicate this outdated practice that not only harms the nation's health, but also has a negative impact on our country's international image.
