KT&G Donates 10 million won to Gwangju City Government for Winter Assistance
KT&G donates 10 million KRW to Gwangju City Hall to help vulnerable groups have a warm winter.

According to a recent report by Namdonews, KT&G company donated a significant amount of 10 million Korean won to the Seo District Government of Gwangju Metropolitan City on November 29. The regional director of KT&G, Mr. Cha Hyeongcheol, expressed his hope that this act of charity will bring a warmer winter to vulnerable groups. He pledged that the company will remain committed to addressing various community issues and continue offering assistance.

Philip Morris Japan announced that it will launch “TEREA Blossom Pearl,” a new tobacco stick for IQOS ILUMA, on May 11. The new product will expand the TEREA lineup to 27 variants. It features a capsule menthol flavor with strawberry and subtle herbal notes and is priced at JPY 620, or about USD 4.14 based on an assumed rate of 1 JPY = 0.00668 USD. NACS Urges USTR to Address Illegal E-Cigarette Exports in China Trade Engagements
NACS submitted a comment letter to USTR in a proceeding examining unfair trade practices worldwide. The letter focuses on illicit nicotine products made in China and shipped to the United States in violation of U.S. law. NACS said the U.S. electronic nicotine delivery systems market has become dominated by illicit products, mainly disposable e-cigarettes manufactured in China and sold without the marketing authorization required by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.

Namibia Moves to Tighten Laws on E-Cigarettes and Emerging Nicotine Products
Namibia is moving to tighten regulation of e-cigarettes and other emerging nicotine products as part of broader tobacco control efforts. Deputy health minister Susan Ndjaleka said the government is reviewing the Tobacco Products Control Act to close regulatory gaps and address emerging tobacco products. Namibia is also working toward joining the Protocol to Eliminate Illicit Trade in Tobacco Products in order to curb the black market and protect public revenue.

KT&G said on April 20 that it has launched two new “AIIM” sticks for its lil AIBLE heated tobacco device at convenience stores nationwide in South Korea. Israel’s Finance Ministry Advances New Tax Plan for Vapes, Tobacco Pouches and Nicotine Pouches
Israel’s Finance Ministry is advancing a new bill to tax e-cigarettes, tobacco pouches and nicotine pouches. According to the report, once approved by the Knesset Finance Committee, the initiative would only require the signature of Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich to take effect. The plan would lower the tax on vape liquid while introducing new taxes on vape devices and on tobacco and nicotine pouches.
