Lithuanian MP proposes ban on e-cigarettes
Lithuanian lawmaker proposes e-cigarette ban due to concerns over illegal additives in e-liquids.

On May 11th, Aurelijs Veryga, former Minister of Health of Lithuania and current member of parliament, proposed a ban on electronic cigarettes as there have been no better solutions put forth to regulate the current unorganized e-cigarette market.

Vega is extremely dissatisfied with the current state of electronic cigarette regulation, as he believes that some people are adding banned substances to e-cigarette oils, which cannot be legally purchased in the market.

No one has offered a better method to manage all the chaotic situations that currently exist.

However, Member of Parliament Morgana Danielė believes that banning e-cigarettes will not solve the problem as if they are prohibited for sale in Lithuania, people will still be able to get them from other places.

Prohibiting e-cigarettes will not change anything, we cannot take e-cigarettes away from adults.

Politicians who proposed the ban have pointed out that there has been a recent increase in the number of minors poisoned due to the use of electronic cigarettes.

Lithuania had previously implemented a ban on electronic cigarette products, with a law prohibiting the sale of flavored e-cigarette fluids coming into effect on July 1st, 2022.
