More than 2,300 units of vape liquid worth over RM75,000 were seized during an integrated operation at premises in Likas near Kota Kinabalu. According to The Star, more than 2,300 units of vape liquid worth over RM75,000 were seized in an integrated operation at a premises in Likas near Kota Kinabalu.

 

The report says that during Ops Taring Landai E-Cigarette Mega on Tuesday (Feb 10) night, the Marine Police, Sabah Health Department officials and district police detected a shop displaying 92 types of vape pods, and conducted further searches of the premises.

 

Sabah Marine Police commander Asst Comm Ahmad Amri Abd Rahman said in a statement on Wednesday (Feb 11) that the follow-up search led to the discovery of 2,353 units of liquid vape stored at the premises. He said the confiscated items, valued at RM75,825, were brought back to base and will be investigated under the Control of Smoking Products for Public Health Act 2024.

 

He added that similar operations will be conducted on an ongoing basis to curb the illegal sale and distribution of vape products to protect public health, and urged anyone with information on unauthorised sales of smoking products to inform the authorities.
