Manx Parliament Expected to Approve 2023 E-Cigarette Product Act
The Isle of Man's "2023 e-cigarette Products Act" expected to gain royal approval at the next Tynwald meeting on April 16.

According to a report from iomtoday on March 29th, the "2023 E-Cigarette Products Bill" in the Isle of Man is expected to receive royal approval at the next Tynwald Court meeting scheduled for April 16th (Tuesday).

If the bill is passed, it will be illegal for individuals under the age of 18 to purchase e-cigarette products in the Isle of Man starting from mid-April.

Last June, the lower house of parliament passed the relevant legislation, and it received final approval from the legislative committee in October.

Kate Lord-Brennan, Minister of the Isle of Man Cabinet Office, announced during a session of the House of Keys on Tuesday, March 26th, that the "2023 e-cigarette Products Act" was passed by all departments on December 19, 2023.

The Public Prosecution Service has requested a very short turnaround time during the Christmas period to update the legislation based on amendments from the Legislative Council. After completing these updates, the legislation was sent to the Department of Justice on January 11th, and the department has indicated that the legislation is scheduled to receive royal approval in April as planned.
