Manxradio Report: New Regulations on E-Cigarettes Effective May 27th
Manxradio reported that the Isle of Man e-cigarette product law will ban sales to under 18s starting May 27.

According to Manxradio on May 21, the Isle of Man's e-cigarette legislation will come into effect on May 27. This means that selling and supplying e-cigarette products to individuals under the age of 18 will be prohibited.

 

The new advertising restrictions and display regulations will also be implemented starting in September. This means that retail stores will no longer be allowed to openly display e-cigarette products for individuals under the age of 18 to enter.

 

Cabinet Office Minister Kate Lord-Brennan stated,

 

It is very positive to be able to implement this law after receiving royal approval. This is an important measure for the current and future health of young people.

 

In addition, the legislation stipulates that anyone selling e-cigarette products to individuals under the age of 18 may face a fine of up to £5,000. Importing e-cigarette products for individuals between the ages of 16 and 18 will be considered a criminal offense, punishable by a maximum fine of £500.
