Maryland Passes Bill to Regulate E-cigarette Tax, Debate on Flavor Bans Continues
Maryland passes e-cigarette tax bill, signaling progress in regulating ENDS, while debate on banning flavored products continues due to fiscal pressures.

According to a report from the NM Tribune on November 21st, recent developments in the state of Maryland have resulted in the passing of a bill regarding the taxation of e-cigarettes. This legislation signifies a significant advancement in the regulation of Electronic Nicotine Delivery Systems (ENDS) in the state.

 

However, the debate on whether to ban flavored e-cigarette products continues, influenced by financial pressures.

NACS said the U.S. electronic nicotine delivery systems market has become dominated by illicit products, mainly disposable e-cigarettes manufactured in China and sold without the marketing authorization required by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.
