According to a report from Manila Times on August 27, PMI Fortune Tobacco Company (PMFTC) will be launching new products in support of Republic Act 11900 of the Philippines, also known as the Vaporized Nicotine and Non-Nicotine Products Regulation Act.

Denis Gorkun, President of PMI Fukuan, announced at a forum in Manila that the company is soon set to introduce an innovative product called IQOS ILUMA in the Philippines.

Gorkun states that the device is more consumer-friendly as it uses induction technology for heating instead of combustion. The passage of Bill 11900 in 2022 regulates the importation, manufacturing, sales, packaging, distribution, and usage of vaporized nicotine and non-nicotine products, as well as new tobacco products.

Gorkun stated that this law opens the door for scientifically advanced products that are better alternatives to traditional cigarettes.
