According to an ITV report on October 26th, the Gloucestershire police conducted a search of an apartment after receiving community complaints about illegal tobacco sales.
Police have discovered that these tobacco products were being stored in a nearby apartment. A total of 2,284 packs of illegal cigarettes and 117 packs of illegal hand-rolled tobacco were seized, with an estimated value of approximately £12,500. Officers also confiscated a sum of cash. This operation was carried out in collaboration between the police and Gloucestershire County Council.
Dave Norman, a member of the Trade Standards Agency, stated, "Illegal tobacco undermines legitimate vendors' trade and poses risks to public health. This recent seizure demonstrates that our colleagues are tirelessly working to prevent these harmful products from flooding the streets, and we are grateful to the community for providing us with information.
