Russian Police Crack Down on Illegal Tobacco Trade, Seize 1,600 Illegal Vapes

Russian police conducted raids in the Kuban region, seizing more than 37,000 packs of untaxed cigarettes and over 1,600 vapes. Criminal charges have been filed, and the investigation is ongoing.

According to Kommersant's report on November 25th, Russian police seized more than 37,000 packs of illegal cigarettes and 1,600 e-cigarettes in Kuban.

The departments responsible for economic security and anti-corruption conducted raids at multiple commercial outlets, residential properties, and warehouses in various regions. During the inspections, authorities seized over 37,000 packs of untaxed cigarettes and more than 1,600 e-cigarettes.

The authorities have filed criminal charges against this behavior under Article 6 of the Criminal Procedure Law. Currently, the case is under investigation, and the police are tracing the source of these unmarked tobacco products to further intercept illegal trade networks.
