Russian Proposal to Ban Tobacco Sales to Under-21s for Health
Russia proposes ban on tobacco sales to under 21s, to protect youth's health and well-being, aiming for a healthier society.

According to Russian news website today, on May 22, Russia has proposed a ban on selling tobacco to individuals under the age of 21. Irina Volynets, a children's rights advocate from Tatarstan, emphasized that the purpose of this proposal is to protect the health and well-being of young people and to build a healthier and more stable society.

 

Irina Volynets has proposed this idea to Anna Kuznetsova, Deputy Chairman of the State Duma, and called on the Deputy Speaker of the lower house of the State Duma to initiate the drafting of relevant legislation. She emphasized that the health and well-being of young people are key to driving social reform towards a healthier and more stable society.

 

Previously, Sergey Leonov, Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Health Protection Committee, commented on the Russian government's ban on the sale of e-cigarette liquids containing food and biologically active additives. He predicted a possible complete ban on e-cigarettes and emphasized that this measure may be implemented soon.
