Spanish Civil Guard seizes over 170,000 illegal e-cigarettes in Seville, valued at over €1.5 million, cracking down on unregulated sales.

According to El Espanol's report on July 22, the Spanish Civil Guard seized over 170,000 illegally sold e-cigarettes in several municipalities in Seville. The market value of these products exceeds 1.5 million euros.


During the investigation of Operation "Humeros," the Civil Defense Guard discovered multiple stores selling e-cigarettes without authorization, and these products did not comply with the Ministry of Health's requirements for manufacturing, labeling, and distribution.


The Civil Defense Guard suspects that these products were illegally brought into Spain and "the vast majority are obtained by unauthorized importers from outside the EU.


The agency has recommended penalties for smugglers and for violations of regulations on the manufacture, display, and sale of tobacco products and related items. In addition, inspections of different stores are still ongoing.
