Successful Seizure of Illegal Cigarettes in East Luwu County, Indonesia
7100 illegal cigarettes of various brands were confiscated in a successful operation in South Sulawesi, Indonesia.

According to an ANTARA report on October 26, the Malili Customs and regional public safety police force in East Luwu Regency, South Sulawesi Province, successfully seized 7,100 packs of various brands of illegal cigarettes in a county-wide operation.

 

Our team has discovered illegal cigarettes in several stores without tax stamps. We have confiscated these cigarettes and they will be kept at the Malili Customs for further disposal. These cigarettes will be destroyed," said the Chief of the Land and Public Order Forces, Satpol PP Police, during an interview with the media.

 

He also declared that he would continue to carry out campaigns against illegal cigarettes and intensify promotional efforts for merchants in order to raise awareness of legal business operations and minimize the circulation of illicit tobacco.
