Thai Police Seize 30,000 Illegal Vapes Worth Over US$270,000

According to Thai police, officers seized 30,000 illegal vapes worth over THB 10 million (US$270,000) and arrested two suspects linked to online sales via LINE account “VST Nuan Chan.” Raids were conducted in Bangkok and Samut Prakan, uncovering a main warehouse and residence. Both suspects confessed and face charges under the Product Safety Act and Customs Law for illegal import and sale.

On October 30, 2025, according to a report by Mgronline, Thai police conducted a joint operation in Bangkok and Nakhon Pathom province, seizing a large quantity of illegal e-cigarette products and arresting two suspects.

Approximately 30,000 e-cigarettes and related products were seized on the scene, with a total value of over 10 million Thai Baht (approximately 300,000 USD). Some of the confiscated products had "ELFBAR" logos printed on their packaging, as seen in photos released by the media.

An investigation has revealed that the primary suspect operated an illegal e-cigarette online store under the LINE app account "VST Nuan Chan," offering nationwide delivery services. Following the lead, the police tracked the suspect and arrested them on the spot in Bangkok, subsequently searching a warehouse based on the information obtained, leading to the arrest of other suspects involved in the case.

Two arrested individuals have confessed to all allegations. The police have filed charges against them for violating the Product and Service Safety Commission Order (prohibiting the production, sale or provision of e-cigarette and e-liquid products) and the Customs Law for illegal importation. The case is now under investigation by Division 1 of the Consumer Protection Police Department.

The police stated that they will continue to strengthen the supervision of online sales channels and crack down on illegal activities of selling prohibited e-cigarettes through social media and courier systems.
