Two Locals Convicted for Selling Unlabeled Tobacco Products
Two residents in Rostov, Russia were convicted and sentenced to two years in prison for selling unlabeled tobacco products.

According to the official website of the Nicotine Union of Russia, on September 23rd, two local residents in the Rostov region were convicted for selling unlabelled tobacco products. The court sentenced these individuals to two years of imprisonment and ordered them to pay a fine of 100,000 rubles each.

 

In 2021, two defendants organized a distribution channel in the region, engaging in the large-scale illegal transportation of unlabelled tobacco products. During the search operation, nearly 140,000 packets of counterfeit tobacco products from well-known brands were seized, with a value exceeding 27 million rubles, according to the news service department of the Federal Security Service in the region of Russia.
