Ukraine Authorities Uncover Illegal Sale of Counterfeit E-Cigarettes
Ukrainian authorities crack down on illegal e-cigarette sales with counterfeit tax stamps in Zakarpattia region.

According to a report from Cripo on December 28th, the local prosecutor's office in Zakarpattia Oblast, Ukraine uncovered a case of using counterfeit consumption tax stamps to sell products.

Law enforcement officials have found that in the Hust district and the Tachev district, some unscrupulous individuals are selling e-cigarette devices and their accompanying e-liquid products with counterfeit Ukrainian consumer tax labels or no labels at all. It is reported that the illegal activities involve residents of the Hust district and the city of Kiev, with these products being sent from the capital city of Kiev to the Zakarpattia region for retail distribution.

Recently, law enforcement officers conducted authorized searches of related warehouses and the residences of individuals involved in the case, seizing over 7,000 different brands of e-cigarette devices, matching ink cartridges, flavored e-liquids, and hundreds of packages containing nicotine and glycerin. Additionally, handwritten documents and cash were found and seized. Preliminary estimates suggest that the value of the illegal goods confiscated is 5 million grivnas (120,000 USD).

Currently, the pre-trial investigation of the case is ongoing.
