Ukrainian police have seized nearly 350,000 vapes imported from China containing banned substances, with a total value of approximately $580,000. The importer is suspected of providing false information.

On November 21, the Ukrainian Economic Security Service announced that the Lviv Regional Economic Security Service confiscated nearly 350,000 e-cigarettes imported from China containing prohibited substances in a operation.

During the inspection of the shipping documents and customs clearance files destined for the "Lviv North" customs station, law enforcement officers discovered a shipment of illegal imports. After conducting an investigation, it was confirmed that the importer had provided documents containing false information.

The recipient of this batch of disposable e-cigarettes is a company located in Odessa State.

Investigators inspected vehicles and seized over 346,000 illegal e-cigarettes, valued at approximately 24 million gryvnas (around 580,000 US dollars). Laboratory test results showed that the fillings of these e-cigarettes violated Ukraine's Law on Prevention and Reduction of Tobacco Products Use and their Harm to Public Health.

At present, the case is in the pre-trial investigation stage.
