Australia Implements Ban on Disposable E-Cigarettes Containing Nicotine
From January 1, 2022, Australia will officially ban the import of disposable e-cigarettes containing nicotine to prevent youth addiction.

According to a report by Australian media outlet Skynews on December 31, 2023, starting from January 1, 2022, Australia will officially ban the import of all disposable e-cigarettes containing nicotine. This new legislative measure is part of the country's stringent regulation of e-cigarettes aimed at curbing the excessive reliance of Australian teenagers on e-cigarettes.

 

Despite strict new regulations, doctors and nurses still have the authority to utilize e-cigarettes as a treatment method to assist patients in recovering from nicotine addiction. This also signifies that, in certain exceptional circumstances, these nicotine products can still be legally used within Australia's borders.

 

According to Australian Minister Mark Butler, a quarter of young people aged 18 to 24 in Australia are reportedly addicted to e-cigarettes. Additionally, one in seven teenagers aged 14 to 17 are also known to use disposable e-cigarettes.
