Australian Dental Association Tasmania Supports Legislation Restricting E-cigarette Access
Dr Katelyn McCracken of the Australian Dental Association praises Tasmania's plan to regulate e-cigarette sales and usage.

According to Mirage News on September 24th, Dr. Katelyn McCracken, President of the Tasmania branch of the Australian Dental Association, has expressed appreciation for the Tasmanian government's plan to continue requiring all adults to have a doctor's prescription to purchase e-cigarette devices, and to ban the sale of e-cigarette devices to minors under the age of 18.

The Tasmanian government is passing a bill that will restrict the supply of e-cigarette devices, ensuring they are only used under medical guidance to provide advice on quitting smoking and stopping e-cigarette use.

The new law will further reduce minors' exposure to e-cigarettes, decreasing the chances of a new generation becoming addicted to nicotine in the future, and alleviating the potential future burden of unknown long-term health effects of e-cigarettes.
