According to Khmer Times, at 4:30 p.m. on February 28, 2026, the Siem Reap Provincial Military Police conducted a raid on a location alleged to be selling electronic devices for smoking chemicals in Phum Thmey, Svay Dangkum Sangkat, Siem Reap Province, Cambodia, with procedural coordination by Deputy Prosecutor Ngul Sovannarith (Ngul Sovannarith) of the Siem Reap Provincial Court.
During the operation, specialist forces seized evidence totaling 10,168 items of various brands and arrested two suspected sellers and owners of the premises, who were sent to the Siem Reap Military Police Headquarters for legal action.
The statement also reiterated that the Royal Government led by Prime Minister Hun Manet has issued an order prohibiting the import, distribution, advertising, use, possession, production and storage of all types of electronic devices and chemicals for smoking and shisha. The order was described as intended to maintain social order and protect public health, especially the health of students and educational staff.
