DTI-FTEB and Southern Police Seize Illegal FLAVA E-Cigarettes Worth Millions
DTI-FTEB and Southern Police District raided two businesses in Pasay City, seizing over 500M pesos worth of illegal e-cigarette products.

According to a report by Tribune on July 17th, the Department of Trade and Industry - Fair Trade Enforcement Bureau (DTI-FTEB) and the Special Action Unit of the Southern Police District conducted simultaneous operations in Pasay City on Tuesday evening (16th) and seized illegal e-cigarette products worth over 5 million pesos from two companies.


This joint operation is the result of extensive case building and surveillance by two agencies. One is located at the intersection of J. Silva Street and Aurora Street, and the other is located in Barangay 102.


These two companies were found to have violated Republic Act 11900 Section 9, which covers the sale of e-cigarette products, as well as Administrative Order 22-16 Section 6, Article 1(j) for the year 2022. Both of these violations will result in administrative penalties.


The DTI-FTEB conducted a raid and confiscated a total of 9,359 FLAVA e-cigarette products of various flavors or styles. The total market value of the seized items is approximately 5,147,450 pesos (88,000 USD).


Currently, these products are now in the custody of DTI-FTEB.
