Officials also discussed the potential job opportunities for the local community and how FDA approval will drive the expansion of the company's products this year.

Six months ago, Governor Andy Beshear announced a $232 million investment in the Owensboro, Kentucky match factory, expected to bring over 450 jobs. The factory produces ZYN nicotine pouches for its parent company, Philip Morris International (PMI). Stacey Kennedy, President and CEO of PMI's Americas region, stated that around 370 jobs have already been added, with expectations to reach or exceed the 450 job target in the future.

This investment has helped the city enter the top ten of the fastest-growing economies in the United States, while also expected to bring in $277 million in revenue for the city each year.

Kennedy claims that the factory is the flagship factory ranked number one globally, with expansion projects expected to be completed in June.
