German customs seize 12,500 smuggled e-cigarettes on highway
German customs found over 12,500 smuggled e-cigarettes in a small truck at a highway service area in Baden-Württemberg.

German customs officials found more than 12,500 smuggled e-cigarettes in a small truck at a highway rest stop in North Rhine-Westphalia, according to an October 29 Tagesschau report.

 

During a routine inspection at the Baden-Baden rest stop, police spotted a suspicious truck. A detailed search revealed that the vehicle contained 12,500 e-cigarettes, with an estimated loss of more than 54,000 euros.

 

Currently, the driver is facing tax evasion charges and the investigation into the case is ongoing.
