Imperial Brand Teams Up with Racing Team for Sponsorship
Imperial Brands' subsidiary, ITG, is set to make a splash in NASCAR with sponsorship of its new nicotine pouch.

According to a report by Journalnow, Imperial Brands Plc's subsidiary, Imperial Tobacco (ITG), is expected to shine in the top-tier events of the National Association for Stock Car Auto Racing (NASCAR) in the United States.

However, the company did not make use of the well-known Winston brand, which it acquired for $7.1 billion in June 2015, for sponsorship. Instead, it is prepared to partner with the Richard Childress Racing team to significantly boost the national visibility of its newly acquired "zone smoke-free nicotine pouch" in the "region".

The "Regional" nicotine pouches will make their debut on February 5th in twelve undisclosed markets, available for purchase exclusively to consumers aged 21 and above. They will serve as the "anchor partner" for two-time NASCAR champion Kyle Busch and the No. 8 Chevrolet racing team of Richard Childress Racing.

The sponsorship campaign by ITG brand will include live marketing and promotional activities at certain NASCAR race tracks. It is worth noting that the "regional" sponsorship efforts will particularly emphasize the warning to adult consumers that "nicotine is an addictive chemical," as required by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
