Indian Herbal Cigarette Brand Maruk Gains Popularity in the US
Maruk, a new herbal cigarette brand from India, has helped Sameer Lolyekar cut his smoking by half and he has become its first distributor in the United States.

Sameer Lolyekar, from Duncanville, Texas, used to smoke about 15 cigarettes a day until a few months ago. After visiting Mumbai, India, he switched to Maruk, a new herbal cigarette brand based in Pune, and cut his smoking in half. He has since introduced many friends and family members to the brand, and due to increasing demand, has become Maruk's first official importer and distributor in the United States.

Similarly, a year and a half ago, while constantly traveling between Pune and Mumbai, he used to smoke 10 cigarettes a day. With the use of Maruk, he has almost quit smoking. The health benefits of Maruk far outweigh the satisfaction of nicotine addiction.

AnantVed Research Lab (AVRL) has recently become the first company in the country to obtain a patent for herbal tobacco and has launched herbal cigarettes named Maruk and Tamburini. Additionally, for those accustomed to chewing tobacco, the company has invented an herbal cigarette that has proven to be a suitable alternative tobacco product. Founder Dr. Rajas stated that AVRL has been conducting Ayurvedic research for 70 years and the company holds a market share of 100 million rupees.

Some doctors have started using these products for treatment, not only in India but also sold overseas through online retail. Manohar Kamath from Indico Ventures Lab has joined AVRL. Currently, there are four to five different brands operating in the Indian market, but Maruk is the first to receive a patent.

In India, smoking is a prevalent behavior and a significant cause of throat and mouth cancers. Goodka is also a herbal alternative to cigarettes produced by AVRL. It contains a mix of Ayurvedic herbs, seeds, and dehydrated fruits, along with natural oils that provide a stimulating and energizing effect. Dr. Rajas notes that these ingredients aid digestion, reduce acidity, and act as a mouth freshener.

What's more, the new product can be inhaled with no side effects and completely eliminates the threat of secondhand smoke. The product has been approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and is in the final stages of patenting," revealed Kamath. In addition to being sold by online retailers such as Amazon, Flipkart, and Meeshow, Maruk is currently available in Mumbai, Bangalore, Mahabalipuram, and Goa.

Due to his own struggles with respiratory congestion and his experimentation with Ayurvedic smoke therapy, he began developing his own herbal formulas and inhaling smoke to alleviate symptoms. Through his experiments, he developed new herbal blends and treatment methods and was able to help several individuals recover from their ailments. Today, he is affectionately referred to as the "Father of Herbal Smoke Therapy.
