Hybrid event from EVO NXT continues in Dortmund.
The InterTabac and InterSupply programme is taking shape. First speakers and topics have now been confirmed and provide a first impression of the high-caliber insights that presentations, panels and master classes will offer participants at this year’s trade show. One event may already be familiar to some industry insiders: Tobacco Europe, the European umbrella organization for manufacturers of tobacco and nicotine products, is organizing the hybrid event “Eyes on Brussels” – for the second time after a successful session at EVO NXT in April.
Dortmund, 8 July 2025 – Visitors can listen both on site and online. Tobacco Europe is committed to supporting responsible EU policymaking, in advancing balanced and science-based regulation for tobacco and nicotine products. The discussion will provide participants with updates on key policy developments in Brussels and across the EU and their potential impact on the tobacco and nicotine industry. Speakers will include Secretary General Nathalie Darge and Filip Haugland, EU Affairs Expert. The hybrid session will take place on Friday (19 September) at lunchtime. The innovative format was met with great interest during EVO NXT.
The supporting programme will be held entirely in English and already offers numerous highlights for different target groups. The Global Institute for Novel Nicotine (GINN), for example, is organizing two panels on Thursday (18 September). The first is entitled “Innovating the Oral Nicotine Segment: Product Development & Consumer Trends” and will be moderated by Dr. Nveed Chaudhary, GINN Science and Standards Committee Chairperson. The second will focus on global regulations: “Navigating TPD3, Tobacco Excise Directive, and WHO FCTC COP11”. It will be hosted by Robert Sidebottom, GINN Regulatory and Compliance Chair. A masterclass will be dedicated to the exciting topic of nicotine pouches. Speakers will include Jonas Lundqvist, CEO of the Nordic Nicotine Pouches Alliance (NNPA.EU). He will talk about the latest regulatory and market developments.
Dr. Erika Grandolfo, Scientific Affairs Manager at Imperial Brands, will also be speaking on Thursday. Her topic: “Tobacco-Free Nicotine Pouches may offer even greater Public Health Benefits compared to Snus”. On the same day, Pablo Cano Trilla will speak on “Market and Legal Risks and Opportunities for the Nicotine and Novel Tobacco Industries in the EU and Beyond”. He heads the legal analysis team at Tamarind Intelligence. The lecture by Joshua Habursky, Executive Director of the Premium Cigar Association (PCA), on “Generational Smoking Bans: Insights from the USA and recommendations for action for the European industry” will again attract listeners from the cigar segment.
On Friday, Die Deutsche Tabakzeitung (DTZ) and Tobacco Journal International (TJI) will host a panel discussion on “Future of Nicotine Technologies: Breakthroughs in Smoke-Free Innovation – Exploring Advances in Next-Gen Products”. It will be presented by Editor-in-Chief Marc Reisner. In addition, Dr. Stefanie Scheffler, renowned chemist at the Fraunhofer Institute for Toxicology and Experimental Medicine (ITEM), will speak on “A new tool for the generation of e-liquid emissions for toxicological assessment” and Raphael Moreau, Senior Research Consultant at Euromonitor International, on “Tobacco and nicotine: overview of industry paradigms, evolution of trends and legislative challenges”.
Of particular interest to participants from the retail sector is an event organized by the European Confederation of Tobacco Retailers (CEDT), at which President Peter Schweinschwaller, among others, will be speaking.
