According to Japan Tobacco (JT)’s official website, Japan Tobacco Inc. (JT) said that, as Japan will revise the taxation method for heated tobacco products from April 1, 2026, the company filed an application on Jan. 27 with the Finance Minister for approval of revised retail prices for tobacco products. If approved, the new retail prices will take effect from April 1.
JT said the application covers two major product categories: Ploom-branded heated tobacco sticks and with-branded heated tobacco products, totaling 37 variants.
Based on the price list disclosed by JT, Ploom heated tobacco sticks would be revised as follows:
- EVO: 550 yen per pack (about $3.6) to 580 yen (about $3.7)
- MEVIUS: 520 yen (about $3.4) to 550 yen (about $3.6)
- CAMEL: 500 yen (about $3.2) to 530 yen (about $3.4)
- Tobacco capsules for with are set to rise from 600 yen per pack (about $3.9) to 620 yen (about $4.0).

JT also disclosed additional item-level updates in the announcement. For example, two new EVO variants are scheduled to go on sale from Feb. 3. Separately, one with capsule has been discontinued after being taken off shelves once inventories were depleted in early November 2024.
