2Firsts, December 29,2025 – According to Kazakhstan’s media Total.kz,authorities in Astana’s Baikonur District have carried out another preventive enforcement raid targeting illegal sales of smokeless tobacco products, electronic nicotine delivery systems (vapes), flavorings, and related liquids.
During the raid, more than 20 retail outlets in the district were inspected. No cases of vape or electronic nicotine system sales were identified. Officials conducted awareness sessions with business owners and staff, explaining the current ban on the circulation of such products and the legal liabilities under Kazakhstan’s legislation.
Nurislam Batyrbek, a senior specialist at the Baikonur District akimat, said that inspections targeting smokeless tobacco (nasvay), vapes, flavorings, and related liquids are conducted on a regular basis.
Since the beginning of 2025, Baikonur District police have carried out 59 such enforcement operations, identifying 63 cases of illegal smokeless tobacco sales. Administrative protocols were issued under Article 196 of Kazakhstan’s Code of Administrative Offenses, with total fines amounting to KZT 3,096,450 (approximately USD 5,880).
Authorities said preventive and enforcement measures in this area will continue.
