On April 26, KT&G's new CEO Kyung-man Bang attended the groundbreaking ceremony for the second and third factories in East Java Province, Indonesia. This visit marked his first official overseas business trip since taking office.
KT&G is planning to open its second and third factories in Indonesia, with a total area of approximately 190,000 square meters. These factories are expected to start operations in 2026, with a combined production capacity of 21 billion cigarettes per year. KT&G aims to establish Indonesia as the world's largest production base, with a total annual production of 35 billion cigarettes (including existing factory output).
The CEO stated at the groundbreaking ceremony, "We have always been committed to executing a proactive investment strategy and leading bold innovation. Indonesia is our main global export hub, driving the expansion of our export business in the Asia Pacific and Middle East markets. We will continue to develop Indonesia as a global production center and leverage it as the company's core growth engine."
