According to Bialasiedzieje on January 19th, the Polish Lublin Customs and Tax Department discovered a large quantity of e-cigarettes and related e-liquid during an inspection at a customs warehouse in Chełm. A total of 17,600 disposable e-cigarettes and 16,800 bottles of 30ml e-liquid were seized.
These e-cigarettes and e-liquids do not have the required Polish consumption tax labeling and also do not meet the requirements set forth in the Tobacco and Tobacco Products Health Hazard Act passed on November 9, 1995. The capacity of the e-cigarettes far exceeds the statutory limit. According to regulations, the e-liquid capacity of disposable e-cigarettes should not exceed 2 milliliters, yet the devices seized in this case have a capacity of 22 milliliters.
In addition, the nicotine content of the confiscated e-liquid exceeded the legal limit. The nicotine content in disposable e-cigarettes and e-liquids was found to be 50 milligrams per milliliter, while the legal limit is 20 milligrams per milliliter.
Currently, this case is being handled by the Lublin Customs Tax Management Office.
