
According to recent reports from the media, former Capital Markets Authority (CMA) director Paul Muthaura and former CEO of the Kenya Association of Manufacturers (KAM) Phyllis Wakiaga have joined the board of directors of British American Tobacco (BAT) Kenya subsidiary. At the same time, company secretary Kathryne Maundu has resigned, and Waeni Ngea has been appointed as her successor.
Filis Vicky Aga is currently serving as a senior advisor at the Tony Blair Institute for Global Change and also holds positions as a non-executive director at the Kenya National Highways Authority, the Institute of Economic Affairs, the International Center for Women's Research (Africa Board), and the Board of Trustees at the American University.
Vaiani Ng'ang'a joined BAT Kenya in July as the Head of the Legal and Compliance Department for East and South Africa. Prior to that, he held the position of Head of Legal and Compliance and Company Secretary at Bamburi Cement Manufacturing Company for a period of three years.
Former BAT secretary Catherine Mandu is now the CEO of the African Carbon Market Initiative. She has previously served as the CEO and overall head of ICEA LION Insurance Company's headquarters, the CEO of the Capital Markets Authority in Kenya, and an independent consultant at EMRD Advisory Limited.
The Chairman of BAT Kenya Board expressed congratulations and welcomed the newly appointed senior officials to join the board.
