Mexican Authorities Seize Huge Quantity of Illegal E-Cigarettes

Mexican authorities seized 27,000 e-cigarette products in Mexicali, worth over $1 million, as sales and imports were banned.

According to a recent report from Mexican media XEW12, on May 8th, the Mexican National Guard and the Mexican Customs Agency carried out a joint operation in Mexicali, Caligari, where they seized a total of 27,000 e-cigarette products. These e-cigarettes were found inside three different sized boxes and have a commercial value exceeding one million US dollars.

In October 2022, the Mexican Supreme Court issued a ban on the sale and import of e-cigarettes.

During the first three months of this year, the National Health Risk Prevention and Control Committee (COEPRIS) in Lower California has confiscated nearly 250 types of such products from various stores.
