New Jersey Lawmakers Push for Ban on E-cigarettes for Minors
New Jersey lawmakers push to ban e-cigarette sales to those under 21 and require ID confirmation for over 21.

According to a report by Pix11 on October 14th, some lawmakers in the state of New Jersey are attempting to pass a law that would ban the sale of e-cigarette products to individuals under the age of 21 and require those over 21 to sign for receipt.

In 2020, New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy signed a law banning the sale of flavored e-cigarettes.

One of the bill's sponsors, Congressman Clinton Calabrese, stated that...

It is well known that the health and safety of teenagers is a top priority of this legislation. We have noticed an increase in the phenomenon of minors smoking e-cigarettes, and we need to take decisive action to prevent the easy access of these harmful products.

The bill was passed in the New Jersey legislature last month and is currently awaiting a vote in the Senate.
